Joel has spent a considerable amount of his professional life assisting businesses and individuals in the financial advice sector. This has been done as an employed adviser and, more predominantly, as a managing partner in a business to business operation offering technical and legislative compliance advice to accounting and financial advice practices.
Joel took on a Rural Financial Counsellor role in February 2020 to assist in the response to the devastating Black Summer bushfires. Following this he worked in psychology, working as a clinician for a period of time, before now returning to the RFC role in 2024. Joel’s formal training includes a Bachelor Business (Finance) and a four-year Psychology degree.
Joel enjoys the challenge and balance of the practical and people skills required in the role, and relishes the opportunity of working with the diverse range of farmers and farming practices in the area.
Joel grew up in Kangaroo Valley and now resides on the South Coast. He and his wife Nikki have two daughters and together they all love enjoying the outdoors in their fantastic part of the world.
The Rural Financial Counselling Service Program is funded by the Australian Government and the New South Wales Government and is administered by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry
