Weathering the dry in Snowy Valleys

Come together for a two-day forum aimed at understanding and preparing for the impacts of drier conditions in the Snowy Valleys region.

Drier times don’t discriminate. Whether you’re on the farm or in town, a business owner or community member, everyone will benefit from attending.

Delivered by Alpine Valleys Community Leadership and led by Jingellic local, Mary Hoodless, the forum will focus on themes of Environmental Stewardship, Community Wellbeing and Preparedness and Innovation.

The forum will begin at Pilot Hill on the Thursday evening with a guided tour of the Wellness Walk and Sculpture Forest, exploring the resilience of the natural environment. Friday’s sessions at the Batlow Literary Institute will bring together experts and community members to discuss lessons from past dry periods and innovations for the future. Everyone will have the opportunity to share their thoughts on what the community might do next, building a collective commitment for the future.

The forum is free, with catering provided on both days. You can attend one or both days, and registrations are essential: https://bit.ly/snowyvalleys

The forum is made possible through funding by FRRR and the Australian Future Drought Fund.
